I graduated high school with a 3.3 gpa and I easily got into UMW. Be careful though, the transfer rate at UMW is EXTREMELY high so they accept as many people as they can to rake in the money. This being said, If you wouldn't apply to UVA or Tech don't apply to UMW. The rigor is intense. I struggled A LOT! Lots of busy work and awful teacher. Basically a teach yourself school.

if your of a minority group you should get in np b/c theyre trying to be more 'diverse'. I have a black friend who got around a 1.5 gpa in HS...she got in. I have a friend who's white from HS who had a 3.2 gpa...they didnt get in.

I worked hard in high school and kept my GPA and involvement high. However, UMW is no Ivy League. If you are a competitive student you should have no problem gaining admission at the University of Mary Washington. In fact, even if your GPA dipped to the 3.0 area through high school, UMW recently lowered admissions standards to increase the size of the student population, so you may be in luck.
